What would cause an odometer to stop working on a 95 ford mustang v6?

what would cause an odometer to stop working on a 95 ford mustang v6? some people say it is the actual gauges in the dash stopped working because they are electronic....but how can that be true if the speedo and tach are still working? What would cause an odometer to stop working on a 95 ford mustang v6?Not working...meaning no display (electronic display?) or meaning no movement? If it's electronic display, then it's the guage. They are seperated so that all the guages don't go if one does. If it's a regular analog guage, then you may have a busted gear in the odom. Depends. Most mechanical odoms are driven off the same gearing as the speedo...they get their movement from the same place. So, depending on the type (mechanical analog or electric digital) of display you have, those are some choices. What would cause an odometer to stop working on a 95 ford mustang v6?
it's a ford. What would cause an odometer to stop working on a 95 ford mustang v6?On the older odometers, we find the gear strips out and breaks a tooth and then inoperatable odometer..speedo and tach will still work as they are driven by electrical motors.. the speedo motor drives the odometer gear .... gear breakes ..no odometer
cable loose or brokenWhat would cause an odometer to stop working on a 95 ford mustang v6?I don't know about ford, but same thing happened to my nissan, and they first told me it was some kind of sensor that was not hooked or working properly, and the next step was to change the cluster itself (that helped). I hope this info. if valuable. ! Good LUckWhat would cause an odometer to stop working on a 95 ford mustang v6?
Could be a sensor. I changed gears on my 98 and had to change the sensor to get the speedometer and the odometer calibrated correctly. That sensor was on the side of the tranny.
That isolates the fault to the odometer itself because the odo is usually driven off the speedo cable. What would cause an odometer to stop working on a 95 ford mustang v6?
If the speedometer works, odometer doesn't, you need a new speedometer head
It is something that just happens with all cars once they get older. Take it to a mechanic and see if they can fix it.
The vehicle speed sensor is bad.
it just may have come unhooked ...follow the line make sure everything is still snug.
its a FORD why else...its all about CHEVY BABY!
