How to you fix a Ford Ranger bumper that has fallen off by yourself? WIthout taking it to a auto shop?

Its a year '98 ford ranger and the bumper fell off..I don't have money to spend on a repair. I just have to do it by myself...How do you fix it?How to you fix a Ford Ranger bumper that has fallen off by yourself? WIthout taking it to a auto shop? You should beg, borrow or steal a socket wrench! The large bolts are difficult to get to access with a cresent wrench. U need a good hammer With a little UMPH! to bend back the dog ears (Sliding Parts) and then a block of wood to beat the thing back into place. A little penetrating oil will help everywhere! Get rags to clean every oily thing up. lot of oil with steel work is usually a good thing.. I believe starting in 97 everything has an air bag. I'm not sure where the sensors that detect shock (Impacts) I was told at school these are located right on the bumper (behind it) so look for loose wire!!! When you find them make sure to talk to a pro about putting them back together. Good Luck Ill pray for youHow to you fix a Ford Ranger bumper that has fallen off by yourself? Well I gotta know why and how it fell off. If it's just the bolts then put in new bolts. If it rusted off you'll need some steel to plate the back of the frame. I use an angle grinder with metal cutting disc's to cut steel for jobs like this. How to you fix a Ford Ranger bumper that has fallen off by yourself? WIthout taking it to a auto shop?If you don't know how to do it yourself and you don't have any money to spend then you might want to take it to a nearby body shop and let them give you a free written estimate. That way you will know for sure what has to be done to fix it right. You will most likely need new support brackets. You're going to need to at least spend some money on replacement parts. The cheapest way to do it is to contact a nearby salvage dealer and see if they have comparable parts to what is indicated on the written estimate. These dealers know a lot about taking apart and putting back together auto body parts. If you are doing business with them, they might give you some free tips on how to do the work yourself. Be careful though. The bumper is there to protect you. If you don't do the job correctly you could be endangering yourself or a passenger. Good luck.
cut away the rusted areas replace with a like thickness piece of steele weld the patch into place. grind the weld smooth and paint with a primer or undercoat. How to you fix a Ford Ranger bumper that has fallen off by yourself? it should be easy...just some bolts to put on i guess, unless the bumper is broken or rusted, it really depends on why it fell off and if it got damaged you might need to get a new one
Did it get damaged when it fell off? If so you are are going to need a new one or a used one from a junkyard. Putting it on will be easy just climb under the vehicle and use a wrench or socket to tighten up the bolts. Make sure the bumper brackets are not bent otherwise the bumper will not fit properly or at all. Make sure that you adjust it to line up good with the headlights and the edge of the fender. How to you fix a Ford Ranger bumper that has fallen off by yourself? WIthout taking it to a auto shop?
You can replace it with a 2 x 4 piece of lumber and some duct tape (West Virginia Chrome). Or try to get an old one at a junkyard.
take the bolts off from under the truck. the bumper is bolted to the underneath of the vehicle. then buy a new bumper and bolt it on.

i'm not a mechanic but i was recently in an accident with my brand new SUV and that's what my boyfriend did.
