Would a Ford ranger be able to tow an aircraft weighing 16,000Ib down a taxiway?

I am looking for a small truck that can pull my aircraft out of its hanger and on to the taxi way without having to start its engines while inside the hanger. I have an old Citation that weighs close to 16,000 pounds. In your opinion, do you think that a Ford Ranger with a V8 engine would have the capability to tow the Citation? If not, what would be a convenient truck that would be able to do the trick? I am simply asking if a Ford Ranger has that kind of towing capacity.Would a Ford ranger be able to tow an aircraft weighing 16,000Ib down a taxiway? You say a small truck and a Ford Ranger V8, the rangers did not have a V8, unless you would be talking about the old 60's era full size pickup, which were badged as a Ranger.Would a Ford ranger be able to tow an aircraft weighing 16,000Ib down a taxiway?
Your truck will do it all day long, Sir.

Small world, I sell Citation's starting at the Citation V level.Would a Ford ranger be able to tow an aircraft weighing 16,000Ib down a taxiway? This is level ground and a hard surface. I see no problem pulling the aircraft. If you wanted to take a 16,000 lb trailer to the lake, that would be different. Just to be sure, get the 4X4 , put it in low range and you have the next best thing to a tractor.Would a Ford ranger be able to tow an aircraft weighing 16,000Ib down a taxiway?
"Jim" beat me to it. Great answer.Would a Ford ranger be able to tow an aircraft weighing 16,000Ib down a taxiway?while the answer of jim is perfect i would question the use of such a truck if it was only to be used this way [intermittent trips of such short duration and high demand] , possibly in weather [cold] where the truck never runs long enough to keep the battery charged and the choke never comes off.
my suggestion is a 40 horsepower kabota diesel tractor with a glass cab and turf tires filled with calcium chloride and 4/wd. this is a compact unit that will take up very little hanger space. it is a highly visible unit [orange] and when equipped with a 4 in 1 bucket can plow/scrape, snow/ice
from hanger door all the way to the runway, if need be from access door to parking lot.
a good used late model 4wd truck will cost between 11k-16k dollars a gently used kabota with a bucket 7k-10k hanging a comm radio in the heated/ air-conditioned cab will keep both the tower and pilot informed of operations
