Why is hydraulic system of my ford broken? and how is it possible to repair?

The steering of my ford fiesta 98 has become very hard. I guess the hydraulic system does not work anymore. Does anybody know what can be the reason. I have asked around and couldnt find anybody else who has had a similar probelm. Why is hydraulic system of my ford broken? and how is it possible to repair?Chances are there is a seal leaking at your pump.

Gaskest and seals wear out over time based on quality and conditions they are used in.

You can check your P/S fluid level and it will reveal a low or non existant fluid level. It should have a built in dipstick on the cap. A leak should be evident by inspecting the surrounding area for excess appearance of fluid by looking oily.

Fairly an easy replacement for the novice with small mechanical aptitude.
