What is the Difference between Ford and Mercury?

They are like the same company...What's the difference? For Example I'm looking at the 2008 Ford Escape and the 2008 Mercury Mainer. What's the difference between those two cars? Which is better, more reliable etc...What is the Difference between Ford and Mercury?Mercury is marketed as a more upscale brand of Ford. mercury is the same as a ford since they are the same company . and i hardly think that a company would make one car less than they would any other in there company, but they would make one with more features than the other based on the class they or we have put that car in , for instance(Toyota) they make the Lexus, Honda makes Accra ,it's all the same car just a different name , what you are looking for is features that one has and the other don'tWhat is the Difference between Ford and Mercury?the difference is 2 letters and where you would find them in the dictionary....What is the Difference between Ford and Mercury?
There is not much of a difference besides look. The Ecape comes in 3 models and the Mariner comes in 2. They both come from the same plant in Kansas and both come with more gidgets then before. It is more of a marketing gimic. Mercury's are normally marketed as a little more classier.
