Need help with replacement of 2000 Ford Mustang Engine?

I have a 2000 Ford Mustang and i have a rod knocking and piston slap and i need to rebuild the engine. I am well versed in older pre-1990 technology and i'm wondering what kind of tricky areas/troubles am i looking at, can the engine be taken out from the top or from under the car. Any special tools required. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.Need help with replacement of 2000 Ford Mustang Engine? It should be able to come out either way.

The engine and transmission is mounted to the "engine cradle" and can come out as a single unit, That is the way it goes in at the factory. So some prefer this method, but it requires the unbolting of a lot more parts then a lift out.Need help with replacement of 2000 Ford Mustang Engine?alldata shows the enging coming out from the top
