Then you'll need a drill and some zip ties to hold the rear end in place. I recommend using the drive shaft out of the ranger but you can use a length of PVC pipe too. Good luck!I have a 2000 ford ranger pick up. How hard is it to put that engine in a 2001 Pontiac sunfire?Nearly impossible, surely not economically feasible. The Pontiac is front wheel drive so you would need the entire drive train from the Ford, You would need to weld to the Pontiac at strong locations mounting points for the engine, transmission and rear. Where would the transmission fit? The only way I can visualize this is to mount the Pontiac to the chassis of the truck. Fuggidaboudit.I have a 2000 ford ranger pick up. The ford ranger is a 5 speed and was totaled in a wreck. The pontiac is automatic. I want to use the transmission and motor from the truck and put it in the sunfire.I have a 2000 ford ranger pick up. How hard is it to put that engine in a 2001 Pontiac sunfire?Don't listen to those people, they're clueless. It'll take a weekend but you can do it. You can use high strength epoxy (JB weld works best), to essentially glue the new motor in (it's good stuff, no need for bolts here!).
