Im looking at buying a 1998 Ford Ranger for my first car. I really dont want it to need a ton of work and I just wondering what I should be expecting to pay for one that wont need a lot of (or any) work. Help please? What would be a good price to pay for a 1998 Ford Ranger?$2500 should do it. google " edmunds.com" to research prices , fuel economy , etc of used cars,
http://www.edmunds.com/ford/ranger/1998/What would be a good price to pay for a 1998 Ford Ranger?Around $3000 or $4000 would be my guess. I bought a 1997 f-150 last summer for $4400 and it had 137,000 miles on it and it was my first vehicle. The only thing that went wrong with my truck was my clutch and that's just because it was a old clutch. Your Ranger your looking at is probably an auto and mine is a standard. So u don't have to worry about a clutch or anything. Before u buy that ranger make sure u bring a buddy with you that knows a lot about vehicles so they can inspect it and that way you wont get ripped off or anything like that. If you go threw a dealership make sure he is not over pricing because when i went to go buy my truck they were asking $9000 and i talked them down to $4400 which was a really good deal. I hope i helped.
