How do you fix messed up volume and track controls on Ford Focus Steering Wheel?

I have a 2009 Ford Focus. When I press the steering wheel volume up button, the volume goes up 1 tic and the audio source changes. The same thing happens when I press the next track button. Is there a way to fix this so that the volume only controls the volume, and the track controls only control next and previous track functions?
