Can a Ford Explorer pull a 2 horse bumper trailer?

I have a Ford Explorer, and want to use it to pull a 2 horse bumper trailer with one medium sized pony inside. Can it pull it? Would it burn the transmission out? I would be pulling about 20-30 miles a month. Can a Ford Explorer pull a 2 horse bumper trailer?Have a Class III under bumper reciever hitch installed. About $150 at Uhaul to install.

If you have a V6 in your Explorer you should have no problems but I would strongly suggest you have an transmission cooler installed to keep the transmissions temps down. Heat will destroy it. ONLY pull in the D position with overdrive OFF!Can a Ford Explorer pull a 2 horse bumper trailer?Depends how much your Explorer can tow and how much the trailer is all loaded up with whatever you are putting in it.

Not every Explorer can tow the same. Not every trailer weighs the same. Not every horse and riding stuff weighs the same.
