What happened to the carberator Ford Motors designed in 1972?

Ford built a fuel saving carberator in the early 70's that got over 100 miles to the gallon. I hear our big oil company's went together and bought the patent from Ford. I guess if our government was concerned at all we would be able to buy cars here in the USA like they have in Europe that get close to 200 miles a gallon. It came out about the same time as the rumor Proctor and Gamble was suspected of being run by a bunch of witches (which wasn't true). There is one thing you have to know about energy. You can only get so much BTU s' out of gasoline. BTU is a mearsument of energy. It stands for British Thremal Unit. Some engines are more fuel efficent than others and on-board computers and soft ware help to maximize fuel efficientcy. I have a book given to me by a friend that describes how some people long ago actually made vehicles go an extended distance by modifying their cars. They could get 60-70, and even higher mileage out of their vehicles. The trade off was a vehicle that was strippeds of the finders, doors, none essential body parts and had added hard ware that looked like it came out of a moonshine still. The vehicles only ran around 20 miles an hour. And the tests was on perfictly level ground. You wouldn't want to tool around in these cars. They looked like cars driven in a circus by clowns ! Just remember, the smaller the car, the less wind drag and less road friction and subsiquently the better fuel mileage. Diesels get higher fuel mileage because of the burn rate of the fuel. it burns slower so it can produce BTU's that lasts longer per stroke. Gasoline is a sudden explosion that's not quite as effecient. Sorta like compairing a mule to a race horse. The race horse wins the race, but the mule can keep going farther. Sorry, there was no such carburator that could get 100 miles to a gallon on a standard car. And if there were, you would have to leave 30 minutes earlier to get to work on time.
