What could i do to make my 2001 Ford Taurus SES considerably faster?

I really like my Ford Taurus. Its in great shape and i like the body style. However my one problem is that it only has 155 Horsepower. I want to keep it but i would like to make it faster. Maybe you could do an 18 second 1/4 mile.

If you could double the power, you could run a 14 second 1/4.

That is about what a stock 4.6 Mustang can run.

IMHO, you'd be better off trading it in on the Mustang...........What could i do to make my 2001 Ford Taurus SES considerably faster?Emissions removed makes a big improvement, shouldn't cost much, the hard part is trying to find someone willing to do it.
