Would a Ford Escape be able to hold the box springs to a double bed?

I need to transport a double bed and the only vehicle I have available on short notice is a Ford Escape. Would it be big enough? Multiple trips are an option as long as I can get the box spring in (since it would be the largest and most inflexible piece.)
