Can someone help me name a Anime/Manga/Cartoon/Video Game Character for child booklet?

Basically my school gave me a project to write a tiny book based on sports for kids. So I though I'd go get a Manga/Cartoon/Video Game etc. character but I need help choosing:

I DO NOT WANT:

-Naruto, Bleach, One Piece etc: They are kids! Bloody things are NOT allowed.

-Sonic,Mario and Pokemon because I have huge trouble drawing them.

-TMNT: I need something not only based on boys (A lot of girls hates it)

- Old cartoons like Flinstones, Garfield

- Superman, Batman etc.

-Spongebob.

- Mature things.

Sorry I'm being so picky! Can someone help me name a Anime/Manga/Cartoon/Video Game Character for child booklet?
Why don't you check out Prince of Tennis? No blood, just a twelve year old tennis player shaming 16 year old tennis players and beating them 60-love. too bad it's not about cooking. Then you could use Kitchen Princess. Maybe the Shaman King? But maybe you don't want ghosts... Moonlight Meow is pretty good... or perhaps Pitchi Pichi Pitch. What about Wolf's Rain? Check out each one on wikipedia, that way you know more info about each one.Can someone help me name a Anime/Manga/Cartoon/Video Game Character for child booklet?
I'm not sure about sports wise, but a great kids manga is Yotsubato (Yotsuba). In fact, I bought it for my little sister for christmas this year (she's 9). It's incredibly funny, and perfect for anyone of any age. It's basically about a curious little girl and her adventures.

Fun fact: Yotsuba is the girl's name, and /to/ is a way of saying 'and' in Japanese. So "Yotsubato" is like saying "Yotsuba and" (the english title is Yotsuba%26amp;). This is a good title because all the chapter titles are somthing like, "Yotsuba and TV", or "Yotsuba and Moving". :DCan someone help me name a Anime/Manga/Cartoon/Video Game Character for child booklet?
Princess Nine is about Sports, as is Crimson Hero. Both have girls as heroines, and aren't bloody. They're also kids. I think. Princess Nine might be an adult, but I know Crimson Hero is a high school girl (that's still a kid, right?).

(And just for the record, Naruto is a teenager, as is Ichigo, so technically they're kids. Naruto and Bleach have nothing to do with sports, though. One piece did have some sports specials, but none of them are children...)
