Do I need an adapter to install a memory card on a PS2?

We are getting our sons a PS2 for Christmas. We've never had a Playstation before this, so don't know all a lot about the system. I realize I'll need to buy a second controller so both kids can play at once, but what else (besides a game or two) should we consider purchasing? Does the PS2 have any built in memory at all? If I buy a PS2 memory card, does the PS2 console have a port to plug the memory card into, or do I also need to buy an adapter to install the memory card? Finally, if playing games like Lego Batman or Lego Indiana Jones, and saving to a 8MB memory card, how much use can I get out of the card before needing to get more memory? Thanks for your help in Advance.Do I need an adapter to install a memory card on a PS2?
The system has no internal memory and you would plug the memory card in right above where you plug your controller in. Usually an 8mb card will last you about 14-15 games, depending on the features being saved within the game.Do I need an adapter to install a memory card on a PS2?
The ps2 has no built in memory but there are ports for you to plug the memry card into, also depending on how many games you plan to save to the card you may be fine with just the 1 for now, they do hold a good amount of game saves per cardDo I need an adapter to install a memory card on a PS2?
the ps2 doesnt use much memory so dont worry about that and no you just pop the memory card right in and there u go
