Is the essential wolverine books any good?

i have recently discovered graphic novels as i have previously believed that comics were things that kids read (like most people) but now im aware of adult stories such as watchmen, palastine, ghost world, and batman stories too violent for young audiences.

but marvel still seems like they are for kids coz i read some when i was a kid and after playing the ever so violent wolverine game (which is a lot better than the film) i wanted to read more but whats the essential collection like? is it for kids or adults?

if i get get it i have a feeling ill be like homer simpson in the kids library reading a pop up book about thomas edison (arkwardly in the wrong place). Is the essential wolverine books any good?
no the wolverine graphic novels are fantastic. The only problem I have seen with Marvel's Essential books are that they all seem to be black and white. You miss out on so much great artwork. If you want a great Wolverine story to start with pick up the recent storyline called Wolverine Origins. It will give you a great look at the character and where he comes from and will help get you hooked on Marvel comics.
