I'm about to be a newbie in the online gaming world with my purchase of DC Universe Online. I have 3 questions?

1. When you play these online games with monthly fees, do you have to pay a fee for each character you create? or is the fee attached to the PS3 machine? For example, if I create a player and then one of my kids creates a player, will there be 2 $15 monthly fees or one.



2. Also, those with experience in these games, how much time do you devote to them? I know some people get extreme, but as an old man of 39yrs with 3 kids, i cannot devote extreme amounts of time to this, will this still be fun for me if i can only put in 5-10 hrs a week or even less some weeks?



3. We played the beta for about 2 hrs, will we be able to keep the characters we created since the beta closed? or will they magically appear once i get the game tomorrow?



Thanks for any input and advice from you MMORPG gurus....i appreciate any advice you can give me with regard to my questions and any advice about the MMORPG world in general. I truly have no idea what I'm doing, but as an avid Batman comic nerd, i really want to learn this for fun. Also please don't tell me the WOW is better or another one is better. I believe you BUT..i truly don't care about that. This is the one I want to begin with. Thanks again.

1. The monthly fee covers however many characters they'll let you create. WoW gives you something like 50 -- but you can only use one at a time.



2. If you play (on average) 1 hour every other day, that $15 per month works out to about $1 per hour of playing. Is that worth it to you; only you can answer that question but that's how I looked at it.



3. Don't know about whether Beta characters are being carried over.
