What PS3 games should I buy?

I'm looking to buy a PS3 Slim sometime this week, and I'm wondering what games and accessories I should get for it. I already have or plan on getting:



Madden 08 (got this for $2.50!)

Uncharted 2

Midnight Club: L.A.

Extra Dualshock controller



And I have the following games for PC so please don't recommend these:



Dragon Age

Oblivion

Fallout 3



I'm really into arcade/street racers, action/adventure, and RPG games. I was thinking about Batman and Dirt 2, unless anyone can recommend better games. And one final note, there's young kids in my house so nothing to violent please (Metal Gear Solid, Resistance, GTA 4, etc.) Although I admit these are some of the good games... :-)

Little Big Planet - It's a platformer, but great fun for everyone. It's also often considered one of the best games available for PS3, while being pretty thin on cartoon-ish violence.



Most other games I could recommend are pretty violent, including Batman: Arkham Asylum. The best games, with the best stories, tend to be violent, and realistically so. Modern Warfare (Call of Duty), Metal Gear Solid, Assassin's Creed, BioShock, and the God of War series's are all fantastic in both gameplay and story, but thick with violence being a main attribute.



As for racing, I always have loved the Ridge Racer series, but that's mostly the only racing series I've bothered to play.
Well most games that are really good out there are violent games, but there are still some great games out there that are not to violent and I would recommend playing.

Uncharted Series- (theres killing in the game, but it is not gory at all and its one of the best games on the PS3)



Also if you are into sports games, then I recommend getting some of them, MLB 10 The Show is a great baseball game, and if you like games like Rockband and Guitar Hero, you can pick up those fairly cheap now.What PS3 games should I buy?
i would definetely recommend 'Uncharted 2 %26amp; Midnight Club: LA' as these are games i have played before.



i would recommend some Tom Clancy games such as 'End War, HAWXS' and such. also Red Faction Guerilla is a good game.



An extra controller comes in handy when with friends and family. if you do get an extra controller then i recommend Army of Two: the 40th Day. its great with two human players.

Red dead redemption is fine. I got it and i can say that i love it and i cant stop playing it. There is also Modern Warfare 2.

Assasins creed is a really good game so is the call of duty games. also guitar hero is really good. dont mock until uve tried it :) hope this helps xx
killzone 2 and metal gear! just hide in ur closet theyre really good
defo get uncharted 2 - some killing but i say its light compared to codmw2 and gta 4.



mc la is good.



defo get lbp - its like a cartoon and looks like a kids game but it is for ALL ages! you get to customize loads too.



lbp 2 is coming at the end of the year but its backwards compatible so anything you do on lbp 1 will go to lbp 2 which is good.



fifa 10 is the best football game out there i think altho fifa 11 is coming out around october but who's knows if it will be as good, they usually have minimal differences anyways,



either get split second velocity or blur - they both have demos on the ps store so try them first...



one i love is super rub a dub you use the motion function on the ps3 controller and its really fun, you're a mother duck trying to save your children from wind up sharks and to save them you lead them to the drain hole in the bath tub. its so random but funny.



gta 4 and mw2 are no no's unlike someone said before. they are both rated 18 and are for a reason! they are good games but are so violent and bloody/gorey.



maybe you could hide them. make up accounts for the children and have the parental lock on them but not on your account... (if you want to play online you need an adult, age 18, account anyways)
No one recommended Burnout Paradise as an arcade/street racer? Srsly? Great arcade style street racer, plus free-roam driving by yourself or with friends online.



Uncharted series is awesome. A little trial %26amp; error with the platforming aspect (jumping %26amp; climbing on ledges is hit or miss) but the stories are epic, single player is a satisfying length, and Uncharted 2 has a pretty good multiplayer (although i'm not big on that sort of thing).



Batman: Arkham Asylum is a must-have. Only about as violent as any Batman movie. And one of the best-designed Batman games i've ever played (aside from Lego Batman, lol). You really get the sensation of feeling like Batman.



3D Dot Game Heroes is an rpg even the kids can play. Pays homage to the pixely old school rpg's. Not very indepth but entertaining nonetheless.



Played the demo for Deathspank, and that game is pretty cool. Another light-hearted rpg. And the kids might find it funny that the macho man main character is wearing a pink speedo on the cover.



Ratchet %26amp; Clank series = classics.



Transformers: War for Cybertron is a good action game.



If you ever check out the PSN Store, you can download quite a few cool games. Joe Danger, Trine, Flower (some say it's the best use of the Sixaxis feature so far), and a bunch of PS1 classics like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the Soul Reaver series, Crash Bandicoot series, etc.
